Novus celebrates National Agriculture Week
Novus International, a global company involved in animal health and nutrition, celebrated National Agriculture Week from 14-20 March, 2010, at the Global Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
National Agriculture Week recognizes and celebrates the contributions of agriculture in our daily lives. In recognition of the importance of this week, Novus International posted species facts on Twitter and Facebook throughout the week as a way to educate followers. A different species was highlighted daily. The facts were interesting and highlighted the way Novus products help improve animal nutrition for producers around the world.
A message thanking producers was also on the company website, www.novusint.com.
“National Agriculture Week is a time to celebrate agriculture, not only nationally, but globally,” said Tricia Beal, Director of Global Communications, Novus International. “Novus has a vision to help feed the world wholesome affordable food achieving this vision hinges on the partnership of the producers and farmers of the world.”
Over 300 employees at Novus Global Headquarters were invited to participate in two informative lunch sessions during the week. The first speaker, Dave Drennan was from the Missouri Dairy Association. Drennan educated employees about the importance of associations and how they work with producers. He also spent time discussing current issues facing Missouri agriculture. The second speaker, Rick Rehmeier, is a Missouri pork producer. Rehmeier spoke to the employees about life as a pork producer and explained the importance of the herd health and welfare.
The daily species facts were also made available to Novus employees as a tool to inform everyone about the different species and National Agriculture Week. The facts were posted on the company intranet as well as on the media walls located near the employee entrance.
