Plukon Royale Group buys Flandrex poultry processing
Dutch animal feed cooperative Cehave Landbouwbelang is selling it minority
share of 45% in Flandrex Group to Plukon Royale Group.
Flandrex operates two poultry processing plants in Belgium and the
Netherlands.
The transaction finalises the sale of the last interests Cehave
Landbouwbelang has in poultry processing and is in line with the company's
strategy to focus its activities on animal feeds.
For Flandrex the move is an important step forward in scaling up of the
company. Stand alone it would be too small to be an attractive partner in trade
in the European market.
With Plukon Group it has found a leading party in poultry processing in
Europe. Plukon operates several processing and further processing plants in the
Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Plukon intends to takeover the shares of Flandrex with retroactive effect
from 1 July, 2008 and will continue operations as is.
Cehave Landbouwbelang owned a minority share of 45% in the Flandrex group.
Already on 1 Januray 2006 it sold its 100% ownership of the Astenhof plant to
Flandrex.
