In its role as the nation’s platform on animal production and meat processing, VIV Russia showcases the industry’s developments by the ‘Feed to Meat’ concept. Feed to meat brings together supply and demand within the complete animal protein chain with the driver behind the chain concept being that animal feed and animal health are vital for meat quality and safety. VIV Russia, from May 17-19 2011, plans to highlight the industry’s developments within this concept.

Feed to meat industry
Eastern Europe is a growth market for the world-wide ‘Feed to Meat’ industry. The Russian government is investing heavily in agricultural development programmes. Many of these schemes focus on the feed and meat supply chain, and the pig and poultry sectors are high on the list of priorities.

When and where?
Show dates: Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 May from 10:00 to 18:00
Thursday 19 May from 10:00 to 17:00.
Location: International Crocus Exhibition Center, Moscow
Registration: Visitors can preregister online at www.viv.net.
Printed and digital invitation tickets will be distributed in English and Russian.

Throughout Russia investments in technology and equipment for the milling, processing, storage and handling of raw materials for the purpose of feed, food and fuel are growing rapidly. The aim to become independent in eggs and meat supplies and the focus on food safety requires significant investments. As one of the key emerging markets, Russia is currently a land of opportunities.

Fifth edition
VIV Russia will be held for the fifth time in 2011. The biennial show for animal production and meat processing organised by VNU Exhibitions Europe and ASTI Group has already reported a promising number of registrations with 300 exhibitors expected to cover a surface of 9,000m² in Moscow’s International Crocus Exhibition Center; an increase of 500m² from the previous edition held in 2009.

The show’s fifth anniversary features presentations from countries such as China, Italy and France. Also, there are two new initiatives especially for the event: a Feedtech-Croptech Pavilion for the milling, processing, storage and handling of feed and crops and the Meat & Poultry Congress, supported by Canada Pork International.

New initiatives
Feedtech-Croptech debuts at VIV Russia following recent successes at various VIV exhibitions worldwide. The concept of Feedtech-Croptech involves technology for the production of feed, food ingredients/inputs and fuel. Participants in this presentation are Amandus Kahl and Awila (Germany), Bühler (Switzerland), CPM and Van Aarsen (the Netherlands), ESE (United States), Muyang (China) and Walinga (Canada). The participating companies focus on the primary processing phases of crops. Although the Meat & Poultry Congress will have a heavy focus on the pig industry, the trade fair organisers are preparing a conference which focuses on poultry and dairy.
