The latest edition of World Poultry is now online

In this issue of World Poultry we focus – among other things - on a proverbial new kid on the block. Vaccination with a so called vector vaccine can help to mitigate the damage avian influenza inflicts.

With an avian influenza virus strongly embedded in the worlds wild bird population, mutated from known prevalent subtypes into strains that have caused havoc in poultry production during the spring bird migration, every countermeasure that exists is of great value to the industry.

Also World Poultry reports on the recent congress of the International Egg Commission, held in Berlin. Global leaders of the egg industry gathered to discuss the current situation, including the treat of avian influenza, but focused mainly on what can be learned of the past outbreak. Knowledge exchange and awareness for biosecurity, that is where the poultry sector can make the difference.
