Gumboro is an acute and highly contagious viral infection. It manifests itself in birds by inflammation and subsequent atrophy of the bursa of Fabricius.

In this IBD Podcast episode, hosted by Marco-Aurélio Lopes, Ceva’s Global Poultry Marketing Manager, features Guillermo Gonzalez, Ceva’s Veterinary Services Manager, explaining Gumboro’s worldwide epidemiology, and the different strains circulating.

The next episode will feature Prof.  Mattia Cecchinato and Dr Matteo Legnardi, from Padova University, Italy, to discuss the several studies that they are carrying out about the Gumboro virus, including the detection and sequencing of variants.
