JUST, a US company best known for its egg substitute products, has announced a European distribution deal with German poultry giant PHW Group.
It follows a licence offered to the egg product specialist Eurovo, which will manufacture the products in Europe on behalf of JUST.
JUST is best known for its mayonnaise substitute which is produced using a range of non-GMO plant extracts, but it has since expanded its range to include a scrambled egg substitute, salad dressing and cookie dough products.
In the first four months since launching its egg products, the company says it sold the equivalent of three-million chicken eggs’ in the US, Hong Kong and Singapore.
It hopes to have regulatory approval to sell into Europe by the end of this year.
PHW Group will use its established sales and distribution network to market the products through Europe.
Its chief executive Peter Wesjohann said: “It’s great news that PHW will be able to offer JUST Egg to European consumers – a product that has exceeded all expectations in the United States and is on a par with conventional eggs.
“We will use all of our sales experience and market knowledge to ensure that JUST has the best possible debut in Europe.”
