Animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has released a video in which workers were abusing turkeys at a US farm operated by a major global poultry grower, according to reports.

PETA stated that the video footage, which was apparently taken at a an Aviagen Turkeys poultry breeding operation, shows workers stomping on turkey’s heads and twisting their heads to kill them.

It was also reported that the undercover investigator described stifling, dusty barns where the animals were kept and caught video of several workers killing turkeys, slamming them into metal cages and bragging about previous abuse of the animals.

PETA did not release the name of the undercover worker, but the group did file a criminal complaint on alleging animal cruelty.

An Aviagen company official told the New York Times they “condemn the abuse of any of the animals in our care and will take swift action to address these issues.” It was further reported that they would investigate the allegations, which could lead to firing employees who were involved.
