Elanco vaccine approach delivers against Mycoplasma gallisepticum

Elanco Animal Health shares its research results, undertaken in partnership with the University of Georgia, of a new combination vaccine approach for increased protection against Mycoplasma gallisepticum in layer chickens. Positive outcomes of the vaccination programme, in comparison with a single live or inactivated vaccine were highlighted.

Moba announces breakthrough in visual crack detection

Moba has developed the new Vision Crack Detector which incorporates artificial intelligence to see cracks that are not visible to the human eye. This patented technology requires no contact with the eggshell and can be used on all eggs, regardless of colour.

Biomin participates in research project on gut microbiota interactions

Biomin has announced its involvement in a 4-year, €10 million EU-backed research consortium effort to address the challenges of poultry and pig production by creating a new technology to analyse animal microbiota interactions at the microscale and produce 3D visualisations. Led by the University of Copenhagen, Project 3D’omics involves 13 partner organisations from 11 countries, receives funds from the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation Platform.

Danisco expands the launch of Axtra Phy Gold in Asia Pacific

Danisco Animal Nutrition has expanded its phytase enzyme, Axtra Phy Gold in Malaysia, Thailand and Australia. The product was first launched in India in 2020 and will eventually be available across all markets in Asia Pacific, pending regulatory authorisations.

Evonik demonstrates ecological advantages of feeding solutions

Evonik has said its comparative life cycle assessment, which analysed the environmental impact of feeding broiler chickens, laying hens and pigs, and included feed raw material production, animal husbandry, and manure treatment emissions, has demonstrated the ecological advantages of using its feed amino acids and feeding concepts compared with common animal nutrition practises.

Hamlet Protein opens new headquarters

Hamlet Protein, producer of soy-based protein ingredients for poultry, young piglet and cattle feed, has opened its new global headquarters in Horsens, Denmark. The office expansion allows the company to integrate all departments in one fully-owned building. The company has 2 production plants in Denmark and the US.

Hubbard appoints Zvezdan Kičeec as Sales and Technical Manager

Hubbard announced the appointment of Dr Zvezdan Kičeec as Sales and Technical Manager for the Eastern Europe and CIS countries. Dr Zvezdan holds a PhD in physiology and pathology of poultry and will be in charge of the business development and technical follow up for the region. He will also give technical support to Hubbard Polska in Poland.

Perstorp appoints Aart Mateboer as new EVP

Perstorp has announced that Aart Mateboer has been recruited to lead its Animal Nutrition business as of August 1 and will be based at Perstorp’s production unit in Waspik, Netherlands. In his most recent role, Aart Mateboer was Vice President Animal Nutrition at International Flavors & fragrances.
