Poultry World will host a free webinar in partnership with Evonik at June 14 at 15:00 CEST
In this webinar we will have two contributions on methionine’s importance as feed additive. Methionine is an essential amino acids and limiting in most common poultry diets which makes balancing the dietary amino acid profile with supplemental methionine necessary. This importance is increasing the more dietary protein reduction and precise nutrition are considered. Finally, cost effectiveness is key in times of high feed material prices and correct application of supplemental methionine can help to reduce cost while ensuring optimal animal performance.

Insights into the application of Methionine for cost-efficient poultry production
Dr. Andreas Lemme will give an insight into the application of methionine for cost-efficient poultry production.
Andreas Lemme began his agricultural education in the late 1980s with an apprenticeship to become a farmer. He then studied agricultural sciences at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, and wrote his diploma thesis on duck nutrition. Subsequently, Andreas moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where he examined trace mineral nutrition in swine at the Federal Institute of Technology. After finalizing his doctoral thesis in 2000, Andreas joined Degussa—today Evonik Operations GmbH—as a poultry nutritionist and worked on numerous poultry-related feeding studies as well as modeling of amino acid recommendations and developing respective software tools. In 2007, he assumed responsibility for the Animal Nutrition Research team at Evonik and in 2013 moved to the European sales platform as regional technical director to manage technical support for the European sales force. In 2017, Andreas moved to Service Marketing as poultry expert. Since early 2021, he has also resumed his role as head of the animal nutrition research group at Evonik Animal Nutrition.
