Cobb-Vantress launches biosecurity resource hub

Cobb’s new biosecurity resource hub offers a wide range of free resources, such as videos, posters and articles available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, French, Turkish and Chinese. The resource platform features expert advice from poultry industry veterans on topics ranging from best practices on house hygiene to animal welfare.

Strategic alliance with Sanovo and Ovotrack

Sanovo Technology Group and Ovotrack have partnered on a strategic investment in Ovotrack, global supplier of traceability and inventory management solutions for egg grading centres, processing plants and hatcheries. Ovotrack will continue to operate independently and Job Beekhuis will remain as CEO for both Ovotrack and Hatchtrack. The first Ovotrack solution for traceability, labelling and inventory management was developed 20 years ago in the egg grading centre of the Beekhuis family. Since then, Ovotrack solutions have been installed at more than 100 egg grading centres, egg processing plants and hatcheries worldwide.

Delacon publishes new dossier on gut health

Delacon has published a new scientific publication, ‘What About Gut’, written for experts in animal nutrition and veterinarians and addresses intestinal health in monogastric animals, including the impact of nutrition on performance and intestinal health, global trends in ABF-production in poultry, and the role of the intestinal microbiota for intestinal development and health in young poultry. ‘What About Gut’ (2020) is now available for free on the Delacon website

De Heus opens modern slaughterhouse in Myanmar

In Myanmar, De Heus is part of a consortium, which is supported by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that works towards a more competitive and responsible poultry sector. The poultry slaughterhouse, with a capacity of 1,000 birds per hour, is based in Yangon.

Evonik the exclusive distributor of ProPhorce SR 130 in Southern Africa

Evonik has agreed with Swedish manufacturer, Perstorp, that it will be the exclusive distributor in Southern Africa of ProPhorce SR 130, a butyric acid product for in-feed application in livestock management. Butyric acid is a key ingredient for optimal digestion as it favours gut wall integrity. Butyric acid has been shown to improve pathogen control, provide energy for cells lining the gut wall, enhance secretion of enzymes and improve intestinal cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation, says Perstorp.

Moba announces Edwin Bolwerk as the new CEO of the Moba Group, effective 1 May 2020. Bolwerk has more than 25 years of senior management experience. “The future that lies ahead for Moba is promising and the ability to lead this next chapter is very exciting,” said Bolwerk.

Cobb Europe welcomes David Lawton as new finance director

Cobb Europe has welcomed David Lawton as the company’s new finance director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Lawton is a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualified accountant and joins the Cobb team from Arjobex where he worked in international roles for nearly 2 decades.
